The Creative Process
Challenge
ICO approached me during their business launch, seeking a brand identity that would position them as a trustworthy, high-quality, and service-first partner in the commercial construction space. Their goal: to stand out from generic suppliers through a refined identity that reflects their core values—integrity, respect, responsibility, and partnership.
As a new company, ICO needed a brand that would immediately establish credibility in a competitive and fast-paced construction market. The visual identity had to feel professional enough for large general contractors while remaining approachable and flexible for smaller subcontractor relationships
Process
Discovery & Industry Research
Collaborated with the founder to understand the business model, service philosophy, and desired tone. Researched key players in the commercial construction space to identify brand gaps and opportunities.
Visual Exploration & Concepting
Explored a range of logo directions—from geometric to symbolic—landing on an abstract form that communicated structure, precision, and strength.
Refinement & Brand Buildout
Developed a bold, hexagonal mark with layered angles to imply construction framing and interconnectedness. Built a complete brand kit, including logos, color palette, typography, mockups, and brand use guidance.
Solution
The final brand positions Integrity Commercial Openings as a confident and capable supplier in the commercial construction industry. The abstract logo mark evokes structure, reliability, and craftsmanship—capturing the physical and relational “frameworks” the company builds. The aesthetic is clean and construction-forward, with just enough edge to feel established from day one.
